American Sniper Review by Sceona

American Sniper
Directed by Clint Eastwood
Starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller

Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle's pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and turns him into a legend. Back home to his wife and kids after four tours of duty, however, Chris finds that it is the war he can't leave behind.

This movie is based off of a memoir written by Chris Kyle also called American Sniper. Through out the movie you watch why Kyle joins the Seals, how he met his wife Taya, and what he went through during his 4 tours in Iraq before retiring from the Seals.

In any war drama there will always be some sort of propaganda but Cooper did a phenomenal job playing Kyle. My take on it was that while Kyle loved his family, he loved his country even more and couldn't let go until his job was done. Some parts of the movie seemed slow but the story arc was good and the casting was great. I got excited seeing Kyle Gallner and Sam Jaeger. I would have liked a little more time spent on when he was home in between the tours to build up his struggle being home after leaving the seals for good.

No matter how you feel about war, if a movie can get you to root for the main character and hope that he gets home safely, then to me it's a successful movie.

I give American Sniper a solid 8 out of 10 muddy crowns and a muddy nomination to Bradley Cooper who was amazing.
